| Antique Flat Top Trunk Original Canvas-Interior Circa 1915 SOLD Measuring 34"L X 22"H X 19"W, this is a fairly standard sort of flat top from the early 1900's. Nothing overly rare other than its great condition with original canvas, paint, and papered interior intact. Both the inside and outside were carefully cleaned and a light protective coating applied. The oak wood slats were lightly sanded but left with a proper aged oak look and then finished as well. Structurally, very solid and just not a problem anywhere other than the lock is not functional. Care would consist of a lighting dusting now and again as you would any furniture. The interior retains its original paper covering I would say is 99% complete with just a chip here and there. It is a light tan with small blueish embellishments. The original tray is present as well. Some have their doubts about original interiors but this has been well cleaned and a thin protective finish applied. Between wood and paper in such condition, this is my personal choice. Once you have "wiped it down to be safe" and have made it your own, I believe you will feel the same. Really nice original condition trunk and these tend to blend naturally in their surroundings. |
