Original Tray

Measuring a large size 39.5"L X 23"H X 21.5"W, this vintage trunk would have been brand new
around 1920 give or take a few years. It is a metal covered trunk with lots of hardware and oak slats
which restored nicely with 3 coats of blue paint and 3 coats of clear coat sprayed on the primary
metal and black hand painted on the metal trim and hardware, also placed under a protective finish.
Everything on the outside is original and new stitched leather handles have been installed. Opens
and shuts perfectly.
The inside is finished pine with its original tray. Everything is super clean and very suitable for
storage as you wish.
When I found this trunk there was a cloth banner glued to the inside lid which is shown below. I
removed it to refinish the inside but we've had a good chuckle out of it and I can tack it back in if
you wish. The thought of someone standing at the ships dock with their trunk open to display this
is amusing I suppose.
The color of the trunk is blue. No purple tint at all.
