Large Dome Top Trunk
Brass Lock w/Key
Circa 1885
SOLD

A large dome top trunk from the 1880's measuring  34.5"L X 30"H X 21.75"W which is not so much
long but extremely tall. It will not be overlooked in a room. It is adorned with highly ornate cast
hardware and a nice brass lock from Yale and Towne which is a replacement but still around 90
years old and a desirable lock. The lock works perfectly with included key. The dome of this trunk is
made from the old "three ply wood" as it was called when invented and the top ply has a few
wrinkles in it but absolutely no weakness is present. It actually looks pretty neat. This is a good
strong antique trunk.

The inside is exposed wood and the colors are very nice. With the dome being of another wood
than the rest of the trunk, you get a good variety of colors to enjoy.

This antique trunk would have originally been covered in a tooled leather that was long gone when
received.
