Antique Automobile Trunk
Nickel Plated Hardware -  Original Vinyl Exterior - Leather Corners
Circa 1930's
SOLD

A nice antique automobile trunk I believe from the 1930's or so. This trunk measures 33"L X 16"H X
16"W and is in very good, mostly original condition. The exterior has its original vinyl covering and
the hardware appears to be nickel plated to resist rust. The bottom is covered with a thin sheet of
what appears to be zinc which is also rust resistant. On this trunk, the top opens and the front can
be dropped down as well.  When found, there were two mounting holes about three quarters of the
way up, spaced about even with the front latches, on the back wall. Someone installed straps on
this trunk to cover those holes which are about dime size. You can see where the straps were so
some new ones probably need to go back on. I can handle filling in the holes and installing new
straps at no additional cost, just let me know. If you wish to utilize the mounting holes and/or work
your automobile color onto new straps, I will let you handle that on your end. The strap keepers
remain and are strong and no buckle on the straps are required. They would just tack on in a couple
spots and the ends tuck underneath the hardware easily. Once cut to length, it would take about 10
minutes. The leather handles are original and still very strong with no damage.

The inside appears to have been recovered neatly many, many moons ago, perhaps period. It is still
in very good condition and looks nice.

No structural damage and everything is very secure and works perfectly.
