Large Monitor Trunk
Circa 1920
SOLD

A large monitor trunk that measures 36.5"L X 24"H X 22"W. The name I believe is from the
resemblance of its shape to the hull of the USS Monitor which was an early iron clad ship. Some call
it a waterfall shape given its rounded edges. It has a slightly darker color and its metal is a warm
brown and black. It has its bumps and bruises and there is a stress crack across the top but the
metal banding keeps things secure and it really has a nice antique trunk look about it. Again, this is
a large size trunk.

The interior is finished wood similar to the outside and it shuts and latches just fine.
