A very nice antique trunk manufactured by Drucker out of Cincinnati. They were known as a quality
maker of trunks and their emblem is a lion standing on a trunk with the slogan "Beauty and
Strength" and the makers label is present and in fine condition. This is a good example of their
work and the trunk is in super nice condition with original heavy weight canvas and paint, genuine
leather trim, and full original interior (2 trays) which is linen covered. The paint has been well
cleaned and treated with a coating to produce a nice sheen and the grain of the canvas can be
seen. This trunk was always well cared for and even the black paint appears original so there was
never any rust involved. No repairs were necessary other than a little touch up of the material inside
and a re-tape of the tray cover. It measures a large size 37"L X 25.5"H X 22"W and the curve to the
top is very slight. It does have new leather straps and handles. The latches are heavy cast and
marked with a "4" and a working key for the lock is included The canvas is of the heavy sort and the
trim work is real leather.
The inside has its two trays and original linen covering. The top tray has its original covers which
flip open to reveal the storage compartments. You can flip the entire top tray up into the trunk lid
and a metal catch will secure it there to allow access to the soft bottom tray. Removing that will
allow access to the main storage area.
A very good trunk that we simply tried to let speak for itself and I believe this one will be around for
several more generations. It is very clean and handsome in person.
