Marked "E. Casagrande - Borgo Valsugana - Italy"

Slightly
larger than life Hindu (I'm no expert here) type bust of brass and copper.  Mounted on
roundish painted wood with some age to the paint and attached to
hammered brass or brass
washed copper sconce. Plenty of patina and appears fairly much like aged bronze under late
afternoon lighting, however is solid brass and copper work. This is a substantial piece measuring
14.5"W and 25"H.  Extends from wall when hung about 10.5" being the tip of the nose. My opinion is
that is just right and it looks wonderful on display, very nice projection and you will come over for a
closer look. Hangs sturdy, will not dislodge if knocked.

Born in Italy, 1911, Egidio Casagrande was a master craftsman responsible for the metal armor work
on such movies as "Ben Hur" "The Ten Commandments" and "The Fall Of The Roman Empire" in
the 50's and 60's.  Various large scale commission works can be found in Europe and smaller vases
and other hammered vessels more common to find. This is different.
The colors are there but the picture below
is mostly what you see out of direct sunlight
or camera flash. If you wish to remove
some patina, it is there for you to work with.
Coffee Cup For Scale
Details such as the ear (above) appear
solid brass. The adornment on the
head (right) perhaps a mix of brass and
copper. Each hand done.
Substantial size piece. Bust itself is approx 15 inches tall X 9 inches wide not
counting its mount or sconce. Full roundness and detail to back of head.
