| A very nice New Home sewing machine in the parlor model from around the 1920's or 1930s. The closed parlor cabinet measures 22.5" L X 31"H X 21"W and open the top makes it 44"L and gives you a wonderful place to sit another item on like an antique lamp or flowers. The cabinet is in very good shape with just a small amount of veneer loss on the front bottom from normal foot placement. It does not stand out. On the side there are nice carved details. The inside of the cabinet is in very good shape except there is some damage to the small drawers that are attached to the inside doors. This is something that I had to get down and look at before I realized there was anything wrong. Structurally, no problems at all. The bottom retains its original wood wheels that are quite neat. A heavy piece at about 85lbs. The sewing machine itself works perfectly and raises automatically when the top is lifted open. It is quite decorative with none to very little of the floral designs missing and all parts appear present including the original attachment box which I think has even more than what it came with. Not an expert on the matter, I am told the stitches are quite beautiful. The foot pedal is very decorative and the pulley wheel clean and working great. This antique sewing machine is stamped with various patents, trademarks, and a gold colored "ruler" inlaid in front of where the actual machine sits. A very nice machine and the parlor cabinet stands on its own as a nice antique showpiece. Very nice in person |
